Job summary

Weatherford is seeking a Project Engineer in Houston to design and develop downhole oil and gas completion tools from concept to finished product using 3D CREO CAD modeling. You will perform design analysis and support prototype assembly in a lab environment in accordance with API 11D1, API 19AC, and other applicable industry standards.

The role requires a mechanical engineering degree and at least five years of new product development experience, including stress analysis and FEA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required.
• Minimum of 5 years of new product development design and validation experience similar to downhole oil & gas completion tools.
• Experience with stress analysis on thick- and thin-walled pressure vessels; project management skills essential.
• FEA experience required.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop downhole completion tools from concept to finished product.
• Perform complex stress analysis and FEA for tool validation.
• Support prototype assembly and testing in lab environments per API standards.
• Prepare design packages and drawings for design reviews.
• Coordinate prototype manufacture and test programs.
• Develop and communicate design guidelines for the department.
