Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks a Manager, R&D Science and Engineering to lead Department 5627, Systems Security Research, and coordinate staff matrixed from other organizations across the Lab.

The role requires setting a strategic R&D vision, developing new business with DoW and government sponsors, recruiting talent, and driving innovation while ensuring strong collaboration with security and mission-area teams. Travel up to 2 times per month and onsite work are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 8 years of directly relevant experience (or equivalent).
• Active DOE Q clearance to start, with ability to obtain SCI and polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Manage staff in Department 5627, Systems Security Research.
• Lead staff matrixed from other organizations across the Lab.
• Develop relationships and new business with the DoW and government sponsors.
• Set a strategic vision in R&D to build new capabilities.
• Recruitment and retention; drive innovation for the department and center.
• Travel up to 2 times per month; onsite work required.
