Responsibilities

• Machine complex parts, mechanical structures, weldments and fixtures with foresight to avoid issues.
• Determine appropriate equipment and methods to machine complex parts.
• Maintain equipment and tooling required for machining.
• Maintain stock of tooling and cutting tools.
• Read verneer, dial and other measuring instruments.
• Maintain measuring equipment for machining activities.
• Assemble/disassemble projects and structures from drawings and instructions.
• Collaborate with Engineering on machining parts.
• Communicate via email, phone, or meetings.
• Develop and mentor fellow Machinists in best practices.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement projects.
• Work cross-functionally to resolve problems.
• Follow instructions and provide feedback to all levels.
• Plan daily activities to meet timelines and priorities.
• Maintain a safe work environment and follow safety procedures.
• Operate heavy equipment or drive vehicles for R&D development.
