Qualifications

• This position requires enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, or Polymer Science.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must be able to work up to 40 hours per week for 6 months.
• Current GPA minimum 2.8.

Responsibilities

• Support engineers, scientists, chemists, and technicians within the Performance Coatings Group.
• Assist with processing equipment maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
• Perform laboratory tasks using general instruments and advanced lab equipment.
• Collaborate with R&D team members on process chemistry, engineering, and material science research.
• Document research, calculations, data analysis, and communicate results to supervisor and team.
• Prepare basic samples, materials, and equipment for tests or development.
• Conduct basic technical development, testing, and analyses per project requirements.
• Complete forms and documentation for R&D processes, with guidance as needed.
• Perform basic calculations to plan tests and analyses.
• Maintain and calibrate standard equipment and ensure a safe working environment.
