Job summary

Prysmian in Taunton, MA seeks a Quality Engineer to develop and maintain systems that meet UL/ETL/CSA standards and drive process improvement across manufacturing lines.

You will lead testing, data reporting, and internal audits, evaluate trends with statistical analysis, and coordinate corrective actions with suppliers and other departments to sustain quality and certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical degree.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (quality preferred).
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience and certification is a plus.
  • Quality system auditing is a plus.
  • ASQ Certification in Quality Engineering is a plus.
  • Experience in wire and cable, metallurgy of steel tubing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective systems to achieve quality objectives.
  • Maintain records to demonstrate compliance with UL, ETL, CSA and other external organizations.
  • Evaluate process capability, sampling plans and adjust as needed. Communicate quality performance metrics.
  • Lead associates to effectively perform required testing and reporting of quality data.
  • Evaluate trends using statistical analysis and lead / collaborate with other departments in the development of corrective actions.
  • Investigate, evaluate, and report returned product from customers.
  • Lead / coordinate corrective actions. Interact with customer visits (offsite or onsite) as needed.
  • Lead plant efforts to maintain quality requirements and certification. Identify and lead continuous improvement projects.
  • Perform related duties as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Develop / qualify (MSA) inspection, measuring and test equipment as needed. Interact with suppliers as needed for audits, certifications and purchased material concerns.
  • Lead various activities to support new processes and business.
  • Serve as internal auditor for the NA QMS.
  • Interact with and assist the lab as needed.

Compensation
  • The typical base salary range for this role is $81,000.00 to $121,000.00. Actual placement within this range will be determined by factors such as relevant, experience, education, skills and geographic location.
