Job summary

Kelly is seeking an R&D Laboratory Technician for a 12-month on-site contract in Midland, MI. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with a pay rate of $33/hour. The role involves operating benchtop test equipment, data collection, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree (preferred) in engineering or science disciplines.
• Skilled in data acquisition and data management.
• Proficient in trouble-shooting characterization and application equipment.
• Ability to recognize testing improvements (whether technique-, hardware-, or software-related)
• Background in silicones and related test methodologies is beneficial.
• Fluency in English language

Responsibilities

• Operate benchtop test equipment for characterizing a variety of material properties and reliability testing.
• Learn quickly to become proficient in a wide range of tests and processes.
• Accountable for own contributions in a timely manner
• Solve simple problems using scientific reasoning.
• Use hand-held tools for sample preparation and/or projects involving hardware modification or fabrication.
• Collect and compile data from tests.
• Collaborate with multifunctional team members.
• Maintain the lab including labeling samples and proper waste disposal.
• Maintain, verify, and calibrate some lab equipment.
