Job summary

Trident Seafoods Corporation seeks a reliable R&D Kitchen Assistant to support daily research and development activities at the Innovation Center in Seattle. You will assist Food Technologists and the culinary team with sample preparation, product evaluations, customer presentations, and general lab and kitchen operations.

The role requires a high school diploma, good English communication, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents in English (safety rules, instructions, manuals).
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.
• High school diploma required; experience in food service or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Food Technologists with R&D projects including sample prep, product cutting, sensory evaluations and cooking validations.
• Support culinary team during customer presentations by preparing and cooking samples and plating dishes.
• Prepare raw materials for sample making, including cutting, portioning and forming fish products.
• Package R&D samples and create shipping labels for FedEx shipments.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized lab and kitchen areas and equipment.
• Operate and care for routine food lab and kitchen equipment; monitor sanitation and thermometer calibrations.
• Assist with walk-in freezer cleanouts and disposal of samples as needed.
