Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) is seeking a motivated R&D Intern to contribute to innovative medical device development and research projects, gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare technology environment. On-site placement in MA, USA is expected.

You will assist engineers with experimental design, data analysis, and literature reviews, while performing lab tasks and contributing to documentation and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• Strong academic record and coursework.
• Basic understanding of scientific principles and engineering fundamentals.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and techniques is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Prior experience with Instron testing, Microscopy, and particle analysis is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Assist R&D engineers with experimental design, execution, and data analysis related to material conversions to powder form factor and stability testing.
• Support development and testing of new medical device prototypes and components.
• Conduct literature reviews and research on relevant scientific and engineering topics.
• Perform laboratory tasks, including material preparation, imaging, sample testing, and equipment calibration.
• Document experimental procedures, results, and observations accurately.
• Contribute to problem-solving and troubleshooting in ongoing projects.
• Participate in team meetings and present findings as required.
• Adhere to quality system procedures and safety regulations.
