Job summary

BD Interventional Surgery in Warwick, RI seeks an R&D Co-op to gain hands-on experience in the medical device field within the Research & Development group. You will work with experienced engineers on new product development projects, building test samples, and documenting results to set performance standards.

You will participate in cross-functional meetings, contribute to design concepts, and have access to state-of-the-art equipment and on-site training.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college and pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Polymer Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a similar field.
• Only students in sophomore year or above will be considered.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 required (4.0 scale for some programs).

Responsibilities

• Build and evaluate simple product prototypes and test methods.
• Attend and contribute to product development meetings with cross-functional teams.
• Design and fabricate simple tooling and fixtures for experiments.
• Coordinate engineering tests and experiments and report results.
• Train technicians/operators on new processes and procedures.
