Job summary

Becton, Dickinson and Company in Warwick, RI, is seeking an engineering co-op to contribute to R&D product development. Under supervision, you will build prototypes, run tests, analyze data, and help advance new designs with cross-functional teams.

This on-site role offers hands-on experience with state-of-the-art equipment, opportunities for training, and involvement in product concepts, test methods, and documentation, with a requirement to be on-site four days a week.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college/institution pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Polymer Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a similar field.
• Sophomore year or higher as of start of the internship.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale 5.0 scale programs).
• Available to work on-site during the session indicated.
• On-site in Warwick, RI with own transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Build test samples, prototypes, and evaluate concepts.
• Attend product development meetings with cross-functional teams.
• Develop and document new product concepts and test methods.
• Design simple tooling and fixtures for experiments.
• Coordinate engineering tests and experiments.
• Participate in innovation challenges sponsored by the organization.

Education
