Job summary

ARUP Laboratories is seeking a laboratory technician to provide technical and non-technical services in laboratory areas within the R&D Immunology Group in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The role supports quality control, specimen handling, reagent preparation, and data/documentation duties, under supervision. Requires a high school diploma and competency within six months; some biology coursework or lab experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Demonstrates competency of assigned tasks within six (6) months.
• Some college courses in biology or related life sciences.
• Previous laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents quality control and equipment maintenance.
• Understands appropriate specimen collection, handling, and transport.
• Accurately retrieves and de-identifies specimens according to established departmental procedures.
• Notifies the appropriate supervisor or designated individual of specimens that meet the rejection criteria for inappropriate samples.
• Prepares, organizes, and reviews specimens for run set-up according to departmental procedures.
