Job summary

AEVEX Aerospace in Tampa, FL is seeking an Engineering Technician to support R&D projects, develop hardware prototypes, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to move designs toward manufacturing readiness.

You will solder PCBs, assemble components, model parts in SolidWorks, print prototypes, document test procedures, and help maintain lean processes while working under the guidance of a lead engineer or program manager.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or technical field required.
• 3–5 years of experience as an engineering technician or similar role.
• Experience with CAD software, 3D printing, Altium PCB layout, and cable wiring for RC planes.

Responsibilities

• Solder PCBs with Surface-Mounted Components (SMCs).
• Solder wire harnesses and make cables based on documentation.
• Modify circuit boards using wire jumpers and PCB trace modifications.
• Assist in construction of testing platforms and event setups.
• Review and interpret PCB layouts for accurate implementation.
• Design and model components using CAD software (SolidWorks).
• Print 3D models and prototypes for design validation.
• Collaborate in fabrication, ensuring quality control and precision.
• Diagnose and resolve technical challenges; contribute to project success.
• Contribute to UAV frame design, assembly, and testing.
