Job summary

Formlabs is seeking a Reliability Engineer to strengthen our R&D Reliability Engineering Team. You will develop validation plans, run data-driven root-cause analyses, and build automated test rigs to ensure Formlabs printers meet reliability targets across hardware subsystems.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate risks, perform continuous testing, and translate complex test data into actionable insights that influence design decisions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience testing sensors, actuators, and mechanical components.
• Experience developing system test plans and executing them in fast-paced product cycles.
• Prototyping and running tests from experimental setup to hardware and software implementation in Python.
• Strong data analysis skills translating test results and field data into clear insights.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and manage validation test plans at system, subsystem, and component levels.
• Perform hands-on and data-driven RCA of electromechanical subsystems and field failures.
• Design, build, and implement automated testing equipment for subsystem characterization and reliability testing.
• Collaborate with R&D design teams to perform risk assessments and influence design reviews for reliability.
• Analyze field failure data to identify trends and develop actionable CAPAs.
