Job summary

Datadog is seeking an FP&A/Strategic Finance professional to join the R&D Finance team. You will help build the annual budget and financial targets, partnering with engineering and product leaders to align operations with strategic goals through a financial lens.

This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, forecasts, ROI analysis, and preparing Board materials. You’ll work with BI tools like Pigment/Tableau/Metabase and contribute to major investments in a hybrid setting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in FP&A / Strategic Finance, Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, and/or other related field.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or economics.
• Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint with proven experience in building financial models and managing complex data.
• Clear, concise communicator and team player with a humble mindset and ‘can-do’ attitude.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior business leaders to manage their departmental budgets on a regular basis, including but not limited to the company’s co-founder and CTO.
• Manage financial forecasts and analytics, which include data across revenue, customers, product, company expenses, and headcount / workforce.
• Help manage significant portions of the company’s spend, including but not limited to AI and GPU spend across the company.
• Work on trend, ROI, and profitability analyses on both product and customer levels to support data-driven decision making.
• Work with finance management on quarterly Board materials, including coordination and consolidation across stakeholders.
• Assist in planning and budgeting cycles, ensuring consistency in tools, templates, and processes across the organization.
• Work on ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives for senior management, which may include assessing potential acquisition opportunities and/or negotiations with strategic partners like cloud vendors.
• Become proficient with various financial planning and business intelligence (BI) tools, including Pigment, Tableau, and Metabase.
