Job summary

AbbVie in Chicago seeks an experienced finance professional to lead the FP&A for R&D externals and portfolio views. You will manage Externals spend, develop Power BI dashboards, and prepare executive materials to drive clear decisions across the R&D organization.

You will collaborate with Therapeutic Area & Functional Finance Directors, coordinate governance funding, and deliver timely analyses and reporting for monthly cycles and long-range planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA or MBA a plus.
• 7–10 years of progressive finance/FP&A experience.
• Strong financial analysis, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to operate independently and drive process improvements.
• Experience with Workiva and Power BI; SAP and BPC knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Externals Spend planning and LBEs.
• Design and build R&D visualization in Power BI.
• Support monthly portfolio review forum and QPP processes.
• Prepare executive level financial materials for leadership.
• Collaborate with Finance Directors to ensure accurate reflections.
• Coordinate governance funding requests with AMP / BPC.
• Provide variance analysis and reporting schedules.
• Lead process improvements in governance, PRF, QPP, LBE and LRP.
