Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Senior FP&A professional to oversee the financial planning across R&D Externals and Portfolio views, delivering clear decision support through Power BI dashboards. You will partner with Finance Directors and management to ensure accurate governance funding and timely monthly deliverables.

Responsibilities include budgeting, LRP, LBEs, variance analysis, and developing management reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting.
• CPA or MBA is a plus.
• 7–10 years of progressive related experience.
• Strong financial, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-starter who can operate independently and set priorities.
• Strong verbal and written communication with all management levels.
• Knowledge of SAP, BPC; willingness to learn Workiva/Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Externals spend planning monthly, quarterly and annually.
• Design and build Power BI visualizations for Externals, Portfolio, Internals, and consolidated R&D.
• Support PRF and QPP processes with baseline information.
• Prepare executive level financial materials and supporting detail.
• Collaborate with Finance Directors to ensure accurate reflections of dollars and timelines.
• Coordinate governance funding requests with AMP/BPC.
• Provide variance analysis and develop reporting schedules.
• Drive process improvements for governance, PRF, QPP, LBE and LRP.
• Manage Externals calendar for timely monthly deliverables.
• Document and update Externals finance processes.
• Support projects like Portfolio Prioritization visualization and currency optimization.
• Manage and coach direct and indirect reports.
