Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical ability.
• Experience with machine building, mechanical assembly, prototyping, or related work.
• Experience with manual machining, including lathes and mills.
• Familiarity with testing methods and accurate data collection.
• Clear written and verbal communication of technical information.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to manage assignments with limited supervision.
• Willingness to learn new tools and technologies and ask questions.
• Ability to work both independently and on a cross-functional team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Willingness to follow established processes while offering ideas.

Responsibilities

• Build, modify, troubleshoot, and evaluate prototypes and fixtures.
• Support product and process development through laboratory testing.
• Perform tests per procedures and record results accurately.
• Operate manual machining equipment (lathes and mills).
• Use hand tools, power tools, measurement instruments safely.
• Create or modify basic CAD models and drawings.
• Document project progress, observations, problems, and outcomes.
• Take ownership of assigned projects and meet schedules.
• Work independently and with engineers and others across functions.
• Follow approved plans, testing methods, and safety procedures; share ideas.
• Help maintain an organized, safe lab and prototype environment.
