Averro in Washington state is seeking an R&D Engineer to re-energize its research and development efforts in sustainable wood products and building solutions.

You will develop wood-based building solutions using structural analysis, code knowledge, and mechanical testing, while collaborating with engineering and wood science teams to move concepts from development to pilot evaluation and commercialization.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience with strong knowledge of North American building codes (IBC, IRC, NDS) and structural design principles.
• Experience with wood design, engineered wood products, or building materials; demonstrated expertise in structural analysis and technical problem-solving.

Mansioni

• Develop innovative wood-based building solutions using structural analysis, engineering principles, and mechanical testing.
• Apply building codes and design standards (IBC, IRC, NDS, ASCE) to evaluate code compliance and inform product development pathways.
• Design, plan, and oversee structural testing programs including test configuration, execution, data analysis, and technical reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and wood science teams to advance products from concept development through pilot evaluation and commercialization.
• Support product enhancements and identify development pathways for new products in support of market objectives.
