Job summary

Evolving Solution Services is seeking an R&D Process Operator to run the wood-shop portion of an experimental program behind a climate-materials company. You will operate presses, kilns, and woodworking equipment to produce samples, fixtures, and material for the R&D team, ensuring consistency and safety across the shop.

The role requires hands-on experience with wood and heavy machinery, the ability to read grain, and a disciplined approach to repeatability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus 3+ years of hands-on woodworking or related production experience.
• Experience with wood products manufacturing and knowledge of wood properties.

Responsibilities

• Operates process equipment including hydraulic presses, kilns, and other production equipment to run batches per recipe, sequence, and schedule.
• Sets up, changes over, and troubleshoots equipment and performs routine maintenance to prevent downtime.
• Machines and fabricates wood to spec using a range of tools, ensuring tolerance and quality.
• Handles material end to end: receives, sorts, and stages lumber and manages stock and samples.
• Records run parameters, deviations, and material consumed to trace results to conditions.
• Flags potential problems early and communicates when a setup cannot produce a usable result.
• Supports scale-up and plant trials by translating bench processes to floor procedures.
• Keeps shop safe, clean, and organized, adhering to safety policies and company values.
