Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience in timber engineering and construction.
• Pursuing or hold Civil/Structural Professional Engineer licensure.
• BS Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
• Ability to obtain valid passport and work authorization.
• Strong attention to detail and big-picture thinking.
• Excellent oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Design new timber structures and repairs for existing timber structures.
• Lead and/or participate in field inspections.
• Prepare design and inspection reports.
• Assist in quotations and tender submissions.
• Support quality control processes to ensure accuracy.
• Provide direction to the CAD department for drawings.
• Travel within the US and Canada.
• Collaborate with Laboratory Manager and other staff on research projects.
• Develop standardized drawings, procedures, and specifications.
• Advance knowledge of wood science through training opportunities.
