Job summary

ABB in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a Mechanical or Electrical engineer to contribute to the development and manufacturing of electrical distribution products. You will work from concept through design, testing and transfer to operations in an onsite environment.

The role requires a BS degree, 2+ years in product development and manufacturing, experience with Creo and Windchill, and lean/six sigma or agile practice familiarity.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Power or similar.
• 2+ years in development of products and solutions in Electrical distributions.
• 2+ years manufacturing experience implementing new and modified designs.
• Experience with Creo and Windchill for design and product documentation.

Responsibilities

• Work as an independent contributor in R&D projects with limited supervision.
• Demonstrate solid technical proficiency and embrace best practices.
• Perform tasks across mechanics, electronics, thermal and software from concept to testing and transfer.
• Document work results to enable maintenance and improvement.
• Identify areas of product quality improvements.
