Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking a Manager for Digital Design, Verification, and Embedded Software to lead the development of embedded applications for arming, fuzing, and controller components supporting the nation’s nuclear deterrent. You will prototype in commercial FPGAs, then transition to Sandia’s MESA for physical design and manufacturing.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and eight (8) years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and engineering or scientific experience.
• Active DOE Q security clearance or equivalent (e.g. DOW Top Secret).

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a team including hiring, development, and performance management.
• Lead department‑level planning and communication to customers and partners.
• Understand and connect staff work to beneficiaries, collaborators, and customers.
• Develop trust‑based relationships to meet customer needs.
• Oversee security for department work and ensure safe operations.
• Collaborate across the department to design and deliver ASICs for Arming, Fuzing, and Controller projects.
