Job summary

GAF in Parsippany, NJ is offering a 3-month R&D Commercial Product Development Engineer Intern position within the Digital Transformation group. The role bridges experimental formulation chemistry with data science, machine learning, and laboratory automation.

You will work closely with formulation scientists and R&D leaders to aggregate data, build predictive models, design DOE campaigns, and help implement structured workflows in LIMS and ELN systems.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
• Proficiency with Python and statistical DOE tools.
• Experience with Google Workspace and exposure to generative AI platforms.

Responsibilities

• Extract, clean, and standardize historical formulation datasets from varied sources.
• Build predictive machine learning models and DOE campaigns.
• Design adaptive DOE and integrate data pipelines with LIMS/ELN.
• Develop analytical summaries and dashboards for R&D stakeholders.
• Assist in configuring LIMS templates and ELN procedures.
