Job summary

Afton is seeking a laboratory specialist to perform tests supporting lubricant additive manufacturing. The role involves handling high-pressure, potentially flammable and corrosive materials, and ensuring proper ISO/regulatory documentation.

You will work with senior staff to analyze data and prepare summaries for management. The ideal candidate has a BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with lab synthesis experience and a willingness to learn Lean and Six Sigma methods as part of the

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering required.
• Laboratory synthesis experience required.
• Experience with experimental design and data analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct industry and laboratory tests using established procedures and modify tests as needed.
• Develop test plans and prepare reports, memos and presentations communicating results.
• Operate specialized test equipment following standard procedures to ensure reproducibility.
• Maintain laboratory inventory and keep the work area clean and safe.
• Maintain technical expertise through training and seminars.
• Represent the company with customers or industry groups when directed.
