Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Product Finance leader to own R&D capital allocation and engineering operations. You will partner with senior Engineering and Product Operations leaders to drive product-level ROI, global workforce strategy, and the evolving economics of AI-enabled software development.

You will build scalable finance processes across headcount, procurement, monthly accruals, and SOX controls, mentor a high‑performing team, and deliver self‑serve insights to engineering leadership as

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in Strategic/Product Finance or R&D FP&A.
Deep experience managing large-scale R&D OpEx, headcount capacity modeling, and multi-site workforce planning.
Proven track record partnering with senior Engineering, Product Operations, and People/Workplace executives to drive capital allocation.
Systems-level thinker able to re-engineer financial processes across headcount tracking, procurement, close, and SOX controls.
Experience building, leading, and developing high-output finance teams in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

Define frameworks to measure product-level ROI across a fast-moving platform.
Operationalize ROI metrics to inform product investment and resource allocation decisions.
Model AI tooling and token spend alongside headcount to quantify tradeoffs between human and compute capital.
Lead multi-year headcount planning and synchronize hiring roadmaps with real estate and budget planning.
