Job summary

Lewis & Clark College is seeking a Data Café Tutor to provide drop-in R coding help for students in the Data Science Center located in the Watzek Library. You will help build confidence and independence in data analysis while connecting course concepts to practice.

Qualifications

• Experience using the R programming language.

Responsibilities

• Provide drop-in support for R coding and data-science skills during scheduled Data Café hours.
• Help students interpret error messages, debug code, work with data, and develop problem-solving strategies.
• Explain concepts in ways that promote student learning and independence.
• Assist students with coursework-related questions through appointments or email, as needed.
• Maintain a welcoming, organized, and inclusive tutoring environment in the Data Science Center.
• Communicate with the Data Café supervisor about common student needs and scheduling concerns.
• Participate in training or meetings as requested by the supervisor.
