Hinkle Construction** - a division of **Primoris Services Corporation** is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lead Diesel Mechanic to oversee the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of our heavy diesel equipment and vehicles. This role involves leading a team of mechanics, ensuring efficient operations, and maintaining high safety and quality standards. **Job Responsibilities-** \* Diagnose, repair, and overhaul diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and other components of heavy construction equipment and utility vehicles. \* Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on a variety of diesel-powered equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, bucket trucks, and service vehicles. \* Lead and mentor a team of diesel mechanics, providing technical guidance, training, and performance feedback. \* Schedule and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely and efficient completion of repairs and maintenance tasks. \* Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and software. \* Order parts and maintain accurate inventory records. \* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. \* Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. \* Document all repairs, maintenance, and inspections accurately and thoroughly. \* Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other departments. \* May be required to perform field service calls and roadside repairs as needed. **Job Qualifications-** \* High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or vocational training in Diesel Mechanics strongly preferred. \* Minimum of 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience as a Diesel Mechanic, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role. \* ASE certifications for heavy-duty trucks or equipment preferred. \* Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred. \* Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex diesel engine systems (e.g., Cummins, Caterpillar, Detroit Diesel). \* Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. \* Experience with diagnostic software and tools. \* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints. \* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. \* Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. \* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. \* Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work in various weather conditions. \* Availability to work overtime, weekends, and on-call as needed.## **About Us-**We are an underground and overhead utility contractor, specializing in the installation of conduit, manholes and streetlights through trenching, directional, drilling and moling.
