Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A or B with a clean driving record.
• 2–3 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs) and work in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation to Sterling, VA office/yard.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Reading and interpreting project plans/blueprints is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, dozers, rollers, graders) safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections and daily maintenance checks.
• Transport materials and equipment to and from job sites using CDL-licensed vehicles.
• Follow traffic laws, safety policies, and company procedures.
• Load/unload materials, assist with general labor on sites as needed.
• Communicate with supervisors and teammates and maintain a clean work area.
• Identify and report mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly.
• Follow project plans and specifications as directed.

Job Overview

R B Hinkle Construction Inc. is seeking experienced Equipment Operators and CDL Class A or B Drivers to join our team in Sterling, Virginia. These positions support underground utility construction through the safe operation of heavy equipment and/or the transportation of materials and equipment to and from job sites.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of heavy equipment including, but not limited to, excavators, loaders, dozers, rollers, and graders in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform pre-operation and post-operation inspections of equipment and complete daily maintenance checks.
• Transport materials, equipment, and supplies to and from job sites using CDL A or B licensed vehicles.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations while operating vehicles and equipment.
• Load and unload materials and equipment safely.
• Assist with general labor duties on job sites as needed.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and other personnel.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment and equipment.
• Identify and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately.
• Follow project plans and specifications accurately.

Job Qualifications

• Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience operating heavy construction equipment.
• Proven experience safely operating a variety of equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, standing, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
• Strong understanding of construction site safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret project plans and blueprints is a plus.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable transportation to and from the Sterling, Virginia office/yard.
• Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
