Job summary

Weiss-Aug, a precision manufacturing leader in New Kensington, PA, seeks a Quoting/Estimating Engineer to craft complex proposals and develop integrated manufacturing solutions for customers worldwide. You will collaborate with Business Development, Engineering Innovation, and Operations to deliver accurate costing, optimized lead times, and strong pricing strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Minimum 5 years in cost estimation in manufacturing, with precision machined components.
Direct experience in medical, automotive or aerospace industries.
Experience with ERP systems (PLEX preferred), cost modelling tools and quotation workflows.
Experience with Contract Manufacturers or OEMs.
Strong engineering background with knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and equipment.
Proficiency in estimating manufacturing processes and DFM considerations.

Responsibilities

Manage quote opportunities and meet quotation deadlines.
Assess RFQ feasibility and analyze cost factors including materials, labor, tooling, and equipment.
Review models and specs for manufacturability, tolerances, and tooling impact.
Generate formal quotations with clear assumptions, lead times and terms.
Develop quotations for post-order modifications and changes.
Validate cycle times, scrap assumptions, and processing details with Engineering.
Support Sales during customer interactions and RFQs, documenting assumptions.
Coordinate with Supply Chain on raw materials, lead times, and costs.
Coordinate with Quality Engineering on regulatory and inspection expectations.
Maintain cost models, work center rates, and estimation templates.
Refine estimating logic using performance data and update ERP inputs.
Track quote-to-actual performance and drive cost transparency.
