Job summary

High Five Cares is seeking a compassionate Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) to work one-on-one with a 17 year old student in the student's home in Queens. This part-time role after school hours offers meaningful instruction and personalized support to help the student meet academic goals.

The SEIT will develop individualized lesson plans, collaborate with parents and other educators, monitor progress, and maintain records to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning experience within

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
• New York State certification as a Special Education Teacher.
• Experience with children with special needs, preferably one-on-one.
• Strong knowledge of IEPs and ability to implement teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized instruction and support to a student with special needs in their home environment.
• Develop and implement personalized lesson plans tailored to the student's learning needs.
• Collaborate with the student's parents and other educators to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning experience.
• Monitor and assess the student's progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
• Maintain detailed records of the student's progress and communicate regularly with parents and the Motivated Care Services team.
