Job summary

NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene seeks a Program Coordinator for the newly established Bureau of Queens Neighborhood Health. You will coordinate chronic disease programming and partner with community organizations to improve health among Queens residents.

Responsibilities include research of evidence-based interventions for diabetes, hypertension, and asthma, data management under NYC guidelines, and contributing to grant applications to support programming.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in physical, biological, environmental sciences or public health for Assignment Level I.
  • Doctorate or master's with required experience for Assignment Level II.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate chronic disease programming for the Bureau of Queens Neighborhood Health.
  • Research evidence-based programming related to diabetes, hypertension, and asthma.
  • Maintain knowledge of current literature and best practices on community-based interventions.
  • Manage participant data safely and securely under NYC Health Department guidelines.
  • Document and manage partner data per bureau protocols using Public Health Partners Connect.
  • Participate in evaluation activities in support of programming implementation including IRB materials.
  • Support writing of grant applications and other funding proposals.
  • Maintain communication with local organizations and stakeholders to promote NYC Health Department programs.
