Job summary

York Building Products is seeking a Plant Support Specialist for our quarry operations in Maryland. You will work around crushers, conveyors, screens, stackers and other heavy equipment to keep the plant running safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Experience working around heavy equipment or machinery.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to spot issues and know when something isn't right.
• Safety-focused approach to all tasks.
• Ability to work independently and stay productive.
• Knowledge of operating and maintaining light or heavy equipment.
• Mining, quarry, construction, or aggregate experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attend pre-shift meetings with the crew.
• Inspect equipment before and after operation including safety components, fluids, tires.
• Complete workplace exams and equipment checklists; catch issues early.
• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot crushers, conveyors, screens, stackers, and plant equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance and basic repairs to keep equipment running.
• Keep the plant clean, organized, and safe.
