Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator/Driller Trainee for our quarry operations. The role offers an hourly rate of $20–$22 with a travel stipend and opportunities for advancement from within.

The position requires safety-mindedness, the ability to operate or learn to operate earth-moving equipment, and flexibility for travel and overtime as needed. Benefits include ESOP, 401(k) matching, and health/dental/vision coverage.

Qualifications

• Equipment operating experience is helpful (earth moving construction equipment, farm equipment, timber harvesting equipment, etc.)
• Valid Driver's License with own transportation
• Experience as construction laborer
• Must hold a high level of common sense relative to equipment and machinery operation
• Mechanical aptitude based on past experience around equipment, motors, hydraulic, electrical systems
• Must successfully pass ATF screenings

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance activities required for safe, efficient operation of assigned equipment
• Adhere to Company Safety Policies and Procedures
• Learn drill patterns and terminology and execute drill patterns as established by the Blaster Foreman
• Coordinate supplies with the Blaster
• Complete drill reports, hole sheets, and a signed timecard
• Work unsupervised with a sense of urgency
• Carry all tools and supplies
• Participate in meetings as needed
