Job summary

Amrize is seeking a 2nd Shift Utility Operator at our Rockville, MD Quarry to operate heavy equipment, perform inspections, and support production while upholding safety and environmental standards.

You will load and move aggregate, maintain stockpiles, assist with basic electrical tasks, and help maintenance crews with repairs as needed. This role demands physical fitness and the ability to work outdoors in a fast-paced quarry setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience operating heavy equipment in industrial or recycling environments.
• Hands-on with wheel loaders and dozers preferred.
• Experience in quarry, construction, mining or similar setting.
• Ability to perform routine equipment inspections and maintain safety.
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge; assist with minor repairs.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as wheel loaders and dozers to support quarry production.
• Safely load, move, and transport aggregates within the quarry and processing areas.
• Perform daily pre- and post-operation inspections and report issues.
• Assist with general quarry labor tasks and site maintenance.
• Utilize hand and power tools for routine maintenance and repairs.
• Assist with basic electrical tasks and troubleshooting under supervision.
• Support maintenance with repairs of crushers, conveyors, and related equipment.
• Monitor equipment for unusual noises, leaks, or vibrations and coordinate fixes.
