Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Quarry Operations and Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in Dundee, MI. This 10-week, paid onsite internship begins June 1, 2027 and offers hands-on fieldwork in surveying, production optimization, and safety compliance under the guidance of experienced professionals.

You will gain exposure to field surveying, blast planning support, and continuous improvement initiatives while developing practical engineering skills and professional networks.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program majoring in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong academic performance with a solid understanding of engineering principles.
• Geographic flexibility to work at various sites.
• High energy and a proactive approach to tackling new challenges.
• Outdoor Stamina to work outdoors for extended periods in variable weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Field Surveying & Mapping: Conduct stockpiling and pit face tracking using GPS and surveying equipment.
• Production Optimization: Monitor and analyze the efficiency of crushing, screening, and haulage equipment.
• Drilling & Blasting Support: Assist with blast pattern layouts, fragmentation analysis, and pre/post-blast documentation.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in material handling and operational efficiency.
• Safety & Compliance: Participate in MSHA/OSHA safety walks, inspections and environmental dust/water monitoring.
• Executive Presentation: Present learnings and contributions to our executive leadership team.
