Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc. seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator/Driller Trainee for our quarry operations. The role supports learning drilling and blasting processes, operating backhoes, skid steers, excavators, and loaders while adhering to safety protocols and working in varying weather in Syracuse, NY.

Qualifications

• Equipment operating experience is required or highly helpful.
• Valid Driver's License with own transportation is required.
• Experience as a construction laborer is preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude around equipment, motors, hydraulic, electrical systems is desired.
• Pass ATF screenings as part of the hiring process.

Responsibilities

• Operate and learn drill patterns and layouts as directed by supervisors.
• Maintain safety-minded work habits and adapt to varying weather conditions.
• Complete daily maintenance for safe operation of assigned equipment.
• Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with supplies, inventory, and paperwork (drill reports, hole sheets, timecards).
