Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc invites applications for a Heavy Equipment Operator/Driller Trainee (Quarry). You will train to operate backhoes, skid steers, excavators, and loaders while supporting drilling and blasting activities in our quarry environments.

This role offers growth from within, with an hourly rate of $20–$22 plus a travel stipend, and a comprehensive benefits package through ESOP and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Equipment operating experience is helpful.
• Valid Driver’s License with own transportation.
• Experience as construction laborer.
• Mechanical aptitude around equipment, motors, hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Must successfully pass ATF screenings.

Responsibilities

• Ability to perform job specific instruction provided by Superintendents, Blasting Supervisor or Drill Operators.
• Safety-minded with ability to work in varying weather environments.
• Out of town travel and overtime may be required.
• Perform daily maintenance activities for safe, efficient operation of assigned equipment.
• Adhere to Company Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Learn drill patterns and terminology, then execute drill pattern and layout as established by the Blaster Foreman.
• Inventory accessories, understand cost of accessories, maintenance drill accessories.
• Communicate problems and terrain conditions to the Blaster/Foreman.
• Complete drill reports, hole sheets, and a signed timecard.
