Job summary

The Research Foundation for SUNY in Albany, NY is seeking a Research Scientist (Quantum Technologies) to support the development of superconducting materials and processes in a 300mm semiconductor environment. The role conducts materials research, process development, and advanced characterization, collaborating with industry, academia, and government partners to move technologies toward commercialization.

Key responsibilities include designing and updating 300mm wafer flows with process

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required in a field relevant to superconducting materials or cryogenic characterization.
• Experience with superconducting materials or devices is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish familiarity with 300mm wafer-scale processing and wafer fab software to create/update process flows with engineers.
• Conduct research on superconducting materials and interfaces; perform inline and offline characterization; develop design rules and process design kits.
• Collaborate with research partners to obtain cryogenic characterization data and guide materials/process improvements.
• Grow research partnerships with leading institutions and support engagements with commercial entities.
• Prepare reports and publications; contribute to NY Creates leadership in quantum technologies.
