Job summary

University of Connecticut seeks a Technology Transfer Licensing Associate Services professional to evaluate and manage new inventions, licensing agreements, and IP-related activities within the Quantum Technologies Engine initiative. The role interfaces with OVPR’s Technology Commercialization Services to translate quantum research into market-ready applications.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in the physical sciences or engineering.
  • At least one year of experience in technology transfer.
  • In-depth knowledge of quantum, AI and Machine Learning applications.
  • Experience working in an academic environment and ability to interact with faculty.

Responsibilities

  • Educate faculty, staff, and students about quantum tech transfer and IP processes.
  • Support review of invention disclosures in the physical sciences.
  • Assist in startup creation and venture program support.
  • Support the Quantum Accelerator program.
  • Prepare marketing materials and outreach to promote university technologies.
  • Maintain records of invention disclosures, patent activities, and commercialization efforts.
  • Meet with faculty, researchers, and staff to gather invention-related information.
  • Prepare materials for patenting and commercialization review meetings.
  • Coordinate confidentiality agreements, MTAs, and other tech transfer documents.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry partners, entrepreneurs, and researchers.
  • Participate in events promoting innovation and academia-industry collaboration.
  • Maintain databases and reports related to IP, licensing, and commercialization.
  • Coordinate with UIR program to translate technology and evaluate IP.
  • Collaborate with OVPR staff to support department goals.
