Job summary

The University of Connecticut is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate and support the QuantumCT Engine NSF Engines initiative, reporting to the project manager and CEO, ensuring alignment with sponsor requirements and organizational goals.

This role serves as a central point among UConn, Yale University, industry partners, researchers and stakeholders, managing activities from initiation to completion and helping accelerate quantum technology commercialization in Connecticut.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, project management or related field.
  • At least three years of professional experience supporting complex projects, programs, research initiatives, sponsored programs, or related experience.
  • Experience preparing reports, presentations, and financial documents.
  • Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and project management applications.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and collaboratively in a complex organizational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate project activities from initiation through completion to support achievement of project goals and objectives.
  • Monitor project progress, milestones, deliverables, and performance metrics and provide regular updates to project leadership.
  • Coordinate activities across workstreams and teams to ensure alignment with project requirements, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budget projections and similar for leadership, sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with financial and administrative personnel to support fiscal compliance.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, document meeting outcomes, and track follow-up actions.
  • Identify project risks, challenges, and barriers and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of sponsor reports, progress updates, and project deliverables.
  • Assist with event logistics, registration processes, survey administration, and outcome tracking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
