Infleqtion, Inc. in Chicago is offering a Quantum Software internship within the QSW division. Interns work closely with Quantum Software Engineers and are paired with a mentor on the team.

The program runs for 10 to 12 weeks and includes weekly 1:1 meetings, research talks, and exposure to cutting-edge quantum software from application to middleware layers. The primary internship location is Chicago, IL, with opportunities to engage in government and commercial project work, and to publish

Qualificações

• Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, engineering, physics or mathematics in the US.
• Strong programming skills with Python; ability to rapidly learn Python if starting from another language.
• Familiarity with quantum software frameworks (Cirq or Qiskit) is preferred.
• Experience with cloud and backend development concepts is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct R&D toward quantum technology advances with focus on quantum compilation.
• Deploy software optimizations to our cloud platform Superstaq with engineering practices.
• Interface with customers to understand needs and provide timely support.
• Contribute to government and commercial proposals and execution on global programs.
• Collaborate with experimental physicists and software engineers to bridge theory and practice.
• Publish research findings and present at conferences.
• Keep up to date with quantum architectures, algorithms, and applications.
• Provide guidance to teammates and foster a collaborative research environment.
• Tailor and apply quantum algorithms to real-world problems; analyze performance vs classical methods.
• Expand or develop new quantum algorithms for real-world applications.
