Job summary

Infleqtion in Chicago is seeking a Quantum Software Engineer to join the Compiler Team. You will design, build, and maintain quantum compilation software interfacing circuits, error-correction software, and hardware control systems.

The role blends hands-on software development, system design, code review, and R&D across algorithms, error decoding, and control. Open to both entry-level and senior candidates, with travel up to 10% and in-office presence three days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, physics, or a directly related field.
• Strong programming skills; Python preferred, with C++/Rust or similar systems language welcome.
• Experience designing/maintaining complex software systems such as compilers, runtimes, or simulators.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop software interfaces translating compiled quantum circuits into executable control-system programs.
• Develop interfaces between quantum error-correction circuits, decoding, and execution systems.
• Collaborate with hardware, control, and experimental teams to define stable interfaces between compilation software and the control system.
• Build tooling to validate, simulate, test, and debug circuit-to-control translations.
