Job summary

Infleqtion’s Quantum Software (QSW) division offers an internship pairing you with a mentor on a team of Quantum Software Engineers in the Chicago area. The program runs for 10 to 12 weeks and includes weekly 1:1 mentor meetings, talks from Infleqtion engineers and industry experts, and access to cutting-edge quantum software projects from application to middleware layers.

You will work on R&D toward advances in quantum technology, contribute to cloud platform optimization for Superstaq,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in CS/Engineering/Physics/Math in the US, ideally penultimate year.
• Strong programming skills with Python preferred; C/C++ or Julia also acceptable.
• Familiarity with open-source quantum software tools and modern software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct R&D toward quantum technology with focus on quantum compilation.
• Deploy software optimizations to cloud platform Superstaq with proper engineering practices.
• Interface with Superstaq customers to understand needs and provide timely support.
• Contribute to government and commercial proposals and execution on global programs.
• Collaborate with experimental physicists and software engineers to bridge theory and practice.
• Publish research findings and present at conferences.
• Stay updated on quantum architecture, compilation, algorithms, and applications.
• Provide guidance within the team to foster collaboration.
• Apply quantum algorithms to real-world problems and compare with classical methods.
• Expand or develop quantum algorithms for various real-world applications.
