Job summary

IonQ, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Principal Solutions Architect to design quantum-safe networking for the world’s largest operators, enterprises, and government agencies.

You will guide migration to post-quantum algorithms, advocate crypto-agility, and drive reference architectures and standards in collaboration with engineering. You will lead customer-facing architecture discussions, perform proofs of concept, and produce design guides and white papers that shape IonQ’s networking strategy for

Qualifications

• 15+ years designing and securing enterprise and/or service provider networks.
• Deep knowledge of routing, switching, IP transport, segmentation, firewall design, VPN/encryption, and Zero Trust.
• Strong communication with customers at multiple levels, including CISOs and SVPs.
• Experience with PQC, crypto-agility, and migration planning is valued.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/Engineering/Physics/Math.

Responsibilities

• Design quantum-safe target architectures and migration paths for customer networks across WAN, data center, campus, and access control.
• Lead architecture workshops with network, security, and infra teams; build migration plans customers can execute.
• Own technical proposals in complex pursuits: architecture, RFI/RFP responses, security questions, and competitive positioning.
• Collaborate with Sales Engineers to design proofs of concept, interoperability tests, and pilots including PQC/Hybrid key exchange.
• Translate field learnings into reusable architectures, playbooks, and design guides.
