Job summary

Sygaldry Technologies seeks a hands-on research engineer to build, integrate, and operate experimental systems behind our quantum program. You will work on real hardware, spanning electronics, optics, timing, firmware, and software, to develop devices at the boundary of multiple disciplines.

A Ph.D. is not required; we care about what you have built and how you made it work reliably. You will contribute to a fast-paced lab environment and document your progress for cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building, aligning, integrating, or repairing real instruments and experimental setups.
• Experience in optics, electronics, RF, microwave, controls, vacuum, cryogenics, or scientific software and automation.
• Track record of making things work reliably and diagnosing root causes of failures.
• Experience Python or similar for instrument control, data acquisition, and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Build, test, and commission electronic, optical, vacuum, and cryogenic subsystems.
• Integrate lasers, RF and microwave hardware, control electronics, and data acquisition into systems.
• Debug failures spanning electronics, optics, timing, firmware, and software.
• Write automation, calibration, and analysis tooling to make measurements repeatable.
• Improve lab infrastructure and procedures so systems stay reliable and usable.
• Produce documentation that allows other team members to operate, maintain, and reproduce your work
