Job summary

Metric Geo is seeking a Quantum Algorithm Engineer to bridge quantum algorithms and hardware, optimizing circuits for performance and developing software frameworks for compilation, transpilation, and deployment. The role requires a PhD in physics, CS, math, or related fields, and strong software engineering in scientific computing environments such as Python or C++.

Qualifications

PhD in physics, computer science, mathematics or a related field.
Strong software engineering skills in scientific computing (Python, C++, or similar).
Hands-on experience with quantum circuit design and quantum software frameworks (Qiskit, PennyLane, Cirq).
Understanding of quantum gate sets, circuit compilation, and hardware constraints.

Responsibilities

Implement and optimize quantum circuits for efficient execution on target hardware architectures.
Develop and maintain software tools and frameworks for compiling/transpiling and deploying quantum circuits.
Profile and benchmark circuit performance, identifying bottlenecks and driving improvements.
Collaborate with research and hardware teams to translate algorithmic designs into hardware-ready implementations.
Contribute to the development of internal quantum software infrastructure and tooling.
