Job summary

IonQ, Inc. in Bothell, WA is seeking an agile Production Manager to lead our high‑mix, low‑volume manufacturing floor.

You will bridge cutting‑edge quantum engineering and scalable operations, guiding a team of technicians assembling opto‑mechanical and electro‑mechanical systems. You will partner with Supply Chain and Program Management to optimize workflows, implement a scalable production model, and drive LEAN improvements and 5S.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing production in high-mix, low-volume environments.
• BS in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Management, or related field (or equivalent with leadership experience).
• Demonstrated track record of effective people leadership and talent development.
• Proven ability to manage dynamic build plans with rapid pivots in a scaling environment.
• Strong proficiency with ERP tools, Jira, and data visualization to track progress.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of technicians; design and maintain training programs.
• Collaborate with Production Support Engineers to resolve non-conformances and support late-stage NPI and production runs.
• Own production execution and deliveries; optimize short- and long-term build plans and schedules.
• Partner with Supply Chain to align lead times and mitigate bottlenecks; manage material readiness.
• Optimize floor layout and inventory strategies with Inventory and Logistics teams to maximize throughput.
• Develop and sustain 5S/LEAN workflows; collaborate with QA and Manufacturing to improve quality.
• Participate in NPI programs as a Production representative and forecast staffing needs.
• Communicate priorities and risks to senior leadership and drive cross-functional alignment.
• Maintain and plan future roadmap for shop-floor tracking and digital tools.
• Collaborate with Quality Management to analyze yields and implement CAPA.
• Champion cleanroom protocols and laser safety for sensitive components.
