Job summary

IonQ is hiring a Federal Capture Director to lead end-to-end capture efforts for US government opportunities. You will shape win strategies, coordinate with field engineering, marketing, legal, and proposal teams, and manage gate reviews to mitigate risk while driving growth in the federal sector.

The role requires deep federal lifecycle expertise, a strong network of government customers, and the ability to translate quantum capabilities into mission-focused business cases.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Federal capture management, BD, or program management experience in the US federal sector.
• Proven track record capturing $10M+ contracts in quantum or deep tech contexts.
• Ability to lead matrixed pursuit teams across technical, contracts, finance, and BD.
• Deep understanding of FAR/DFARS, OTA, and Shipley lifecycle.
• Existing, referenceable federal customer network and stakeholders.
• Ability to translate complex quantum capabilities into federal value cases.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end capture for priority US Federal opportunities from identification to win.
• Develop competitive win strategies, pricing, and technical solutions aligned to missions.
• Build alliances with GSIs, teaming partners, and subcontractors to maximize win probability.
• Cultivate relationships with Federal program managers and contracting officers.
• Lead capture gates and brief leadership on status, needs, and risks.
• Collaborate with proposals to convert capture intel into compliant volumes.
• Perform market intelligence and PTW analyses to sharpen IonQ's position.
• Grow the federal pipeline from early leads to qualified capture accounts.
