Job summary

D-Wave Quantum Inc. in New Haven, CT is seeking a Quantum Engineer II to join the Advance Device Development group.

You will design and execute measurements for advanced quantum device characterization and analyze performance data, contributing to device-development cycles. You will improve experimental workflows, contribute to automation and data-analysis capabilities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide feedback into development cycles.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. and/or 2 years of relevant experience; or PhD in physics, electrical engineering, or related field
• Experience with superconducting quantum devices, device physics, and measurement techniques
• Experience in DC/RF measurements and cryogenic systems
• Proficiency in scientific programming for instrument control, data acquisition, analysis, and automation
• Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot technical issues, and identify practical solutions
• Strong written and verbal scientific communication skills
• Strong teamwork skills in interdisciplinary physics and engineering environments

Responsibilities

• Design and perform microwave, electrical, and cryogenic measurements
• Maintain andoptimizecryogenic and measurement systems, including associated workflows, to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency
• Develop and execute experiments for device characterization and validation
• Perform data analysis toidentifydevice performance characteristics and key contributing factors
• Develop andmaintainexperiment automation and data-analysis pipelines
• Identifyprocedure or tool issues and help implement practical improvements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support device evaluation and provide experimental feedback into development cycles
• Maintain well-organized documentation of methods, results, and datasets
