Job summary

D-Wave is seeking a Quantum Software Engineer to work on our core software, calibration systems, and tooling for our quantum computers within the Systems Software Engineering department. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in computer science, electrical/computer engineering, math, physics, or chemistry.
• 2+ years of hands-on software development with Python.
• Experience troubleshooting and debugging with profilers and other tools.
• Proficiency with version control systems.
• Knowledge of software testing: unit, integration, and end-to-end.
• Knowledge of quantum APIs (Qiskit, Q#, CUDA-Q, Cirq) and gate-based QC.
• Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and teamwork.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, scientists, and engineers to translate requirements into specifications and deliverables.
• Implement and extend reliable back-end systems.
• Modify tooling and core software for calibration, protocol development, experimentation, and automation of quantum processor operations.
• Write clean, well-documented code and conduct thorough code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues, identify bottlenecks, and optimize performance.
